One thing the operator states plainly and we will repeat: the driver is not a licensed tour guide. They recommend stops, photo opportunities and how long to allow, which is genuinely useful local knowledge — but it is not interpretation of Ġgantija or the Citadel. A private jeep with a driver trades some of that comfort for access. Six hours, your group only, and routes along rugged countryside, coastal trails, secluded beaches and clifftops that standard vehicles cannot reach. When the maths works

Private tours are priced per group, shared tours per head — but each starting price covers a stated number of people, and that cap is the number the arithmetic actually turns on. Read it before you compare.

Against a shared jeep seat at $97, two conclusions fall out and neither is the one you would guess.

Three people in a private car cost less per head than three seats on a shared tour — $76 against $97, with the route and the pace thrown in. That is the single best-value thing on this page, and it is the version most couples-plus-one never look at.

The private jeep is a premium, not a saving. At $308 for two it is $154 each against $97 for the shared version. You are paying for the vehicle to be yours and the tracks to be negotiable, which is a real thing to want — but do not book it expecting it to be cheaper.

The boat charter is the value play for a group of six, at roughly $85 a head including the fuel fee, for a private skipper and a Blue Lagoon you reach on your own schedule.

What private does not include
