Sliema or St Paul's: Gozo, Comino & Blue Lagoon Ferry Cruise

About This Experience

This is the ferry-cruise version of the Gozo and Comino day: a modern air-conditioned catamaran, a choice of departure from Sliema Ferries or the Bugibba jetty in St Paul's Bay, and free time rather than a guide. It is cheaper than the boat-and-bus tours for exactly that reason.

You cross Malta's northern coast, disembark at Mgarr Harbour and get roughly two hours on Gozo before catching a later boat onward to Comino. Two hours from the harbour is enough for Mgarr itself and a coffee; it is not enough for Victoria and the Citadel unless you arrange transport at the harbour, which independent operators sell on the spot.

The Comino leg brings you to the Blue Lagoon. There is Wi-Fi, air conditioning and toilets on board, and the crew is there, but nobody is guiding you. Read the small print before booking: since May 2025 a free government access pass, booked separately at blcomino.com, is required to step ashore at the Blue Lagoon, and the optional motorboat trip to the Comino caves and Crystal Lagoon costs around fifteen euro extra on the day.

Good to Know & Caveats

• Important Notice: Following a new directive issued by the Government of Malta, effective May 2025, to disembark ashore at the Blue Lagoon, one must obtain an access pass in advance. Passes can be acquired through the official government website blcomino.com. Please ensure you acquire this pass in advance, as the daily pass allocation is limited. You will not be allowed to disembark at the Blue Lagoon without an official pass. For this trip, you are required to book the afternoon timeslot when applying for your pass. Kindly note that this is a government-mandated regulation and not a policy introduced by us. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
• For boarding, it is recommended to arrive at the departure location 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
• This is a ferry cruise; the boat will not remain at the destination.
• This is not a guided tour; both stops in Gozo and Comino will be at your leisure (free time).
